



John M. Opie
Born in Grand Forks, North Dakota on Sep. 24, 1933 Died on Feb. 8, 2009 and
resided in Golden, CO.
John M. Opie, 75, of Golden, has gone to his eternal home with the Lord on Sunday
February 8, 2009, after living a life of service to God, his family and his country.
He grew up in Fargo, ND and enlisted with the U.S. Air Force. He then obtained a
Masters in Social Work at and served the Denver Public Schools until his
retirement. In retirement he became a political activist dedicated to making America
a great nation for all. His children, George Opie of Williamsburg, VA, Gregory Opie
of Golden, CO, and Jane Epstein of Philadelphia, PA, their mother Nancy Clement;
and eight grandchildren - remember him for his dedication to family and for teaching
character values by example. His sisters, Suzanne Parries of Jamestown, ND and
Carolyn Motter of Hope, ND, remember him as a brother they looked up to in many
ways.
John was also a member of the Birch Society. He would show up for our TRT
events dragging a UN flag on the ground every were he walked. You could always
find john at the Denver gun shows maning the Birch table, on the floor and in front of
tht table he would have a UN flag there for all to wipe their feet on.

Michael McCormick
Michael T. McCormick, 58, a Fort Collins businessman, mountain man and historic
educator passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005. "Mike" was the owner of the
Cache La Poudre Rifle Works in Old Town Fort Collins and a prominent figure in
the community. He was born March 11, 1947, in St. Louis, Mo., and moved to Fort
Collins in 1976. He graduated from St. John's University in Minnesota with majors
in English and German. He served as a lieutenant in the Army in Germany and
Vietnam.
To the delight of young and old alike, Mike took on the persona of "Broken Butt,"
an 1830s fur trapper, to present historic reenactment programs at PSD schools, the
Fort Collins Museum and in dozens of other venues in Colorado. He has been
nominated, posthumously, for Muzzle Loader of the Year by the Colorado State
Muzzle Loaders Association. He was a hunter education instructor for the Colorado
Division of Wildlife, a lifetime member of the NRA and took great pleasure in the
shooting sports.
He was a member of the Choice City Singers, the Northern Colorado Fife and Drum
Corps and participated, for many years, in the CSU Adult Fitness Program.
Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Helen. He is survived by his father, Joseph
H. McCormick, of Lampe, Mo.; brother, Kurt J. McCormick and his wife, Amy, of
Old Orchard, Mo.; brother, Richard A. McCormick and his wife, Kathy, and their
two children, Andy and Clare, of Eureka Springs, Ark.
There will be a memorial celebration of Mike's life at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Fort
Collins Museum courtyard. The family requests that memorial contributions be
made to Nightwalker Enterprises, 413 S. Howes St., Fort Collins, CO 80521.

Alan Albertus Nov. 8, 1952 - April 29, 2004
ALBERTUS, Alan, 51, of Loveland, passed away April 29, 2004, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, at Rocky Mountain
Christian Church with the Rev. Ray Harrison officiating. Cremation has been
entrusted to the Howe Mortuary and Crematory. Contributions may be made to the

Nov. 8, 1952 — April 29, 2004
Alan Richard Albertus of Loveland died Thursday, April 29, 2004, at his home. He
was 51. He was born Nov. 8, 1952, in Bossier City, La., to Pete and Shirley
(Wilkins) Albertus. He moved with his father's military service many times through
the years, eventually calling Homestead, Fla., home. Mr. Albertus served in the U.S.
Air Force. He moved to Longmont from Homestead in 1978. He was a mechanical
engineer and worked for Digital Equipment Company for 13 years before retiring
due to health issues. He previously had worked locally for Conner Peripherals and
Integral. He married Crystal Taylor on Oct. 17, 1992, in Black Forest. Mr. Albertus
was an outdoorsman who was comfortable in the wild. He took extensive hiking and
backpacking trips in deserts, mountains, arctic areas and the Everglades. He started
hunting at the age of 7 and never lost his enthusiasm for the sport. Mr. Albertus was
a member of the Restoration Messianic Fellowship Church of Longmont. Mr.
Albertus was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife of
Loveland; his mother, Shirley Heike, of Ocala, Fla.; two sons, Michael Albertus of
Fort Collins and Shane Tusler of Colorado Springs; a daughter, Jennifer Santiago of
Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Carol Willey of Ocala; and six grandchildren.

Carol Greenhill passed away
Carol (Pagone) Greenhill April 15, 1941 - November 2, 2006 Born Victoria Carol
McNew on April 15, 1941 to Rosamand and Roy McNew in Miami, Arizona,
however she was raised by her mother and "dad", Edward Pagone, in Hotchkiss,
Colorado. She graduated from Hotchkiss High School with the class of 1959.
Shortly afterwards, she was married to Richard Grose, and five children were born
from that 28 year union; Cherri Lynch of Iowa, Brad (Lynn) Grose of Glade Park,
Cody Grose of Denver, Marshall (Suzann) Grose of Portland, Oregon, and Misty
(Jimmie) Lunsford of Grand Junction. She raised her family in the Grand Junction
area being active in bowling, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Alanon, school volunteers,
softball, and always gave 1,000% to each of her endeavors! On May 2, 1991 she
married Jack Greenhill and lived in Fort Collins area before moving to Loma five
years ago. In that time, Carol established herself as an accomplished artist of
wildlife and landscape and became a devote defender of our Nation's Constitution.
The Second Amendment was especially close to her heart, and she enthusiastically
participated in many rallies for gun rights and moral government. She was never one
to compromise her beliefs or her love for the Lord. She was a member of the Fruita
Assembly of God Church and could most often be found in the front of the church
with a smile and a tambourine. After a year long battle with cancer, she was
welcomed into heaven on November 2, 2006 at the age of 65 years old. Carol was
preceded in death by her dad, Edward Pagone, a brother, Carl Pagone, and a sister,
Joyce West. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Jack, her children, 12
grandchildren, two great-grandsons, a brother, Leslie Pagone of Meeker, a brother,
Ralph Pagone of Hotchkiss, a sister, Gladys Carpenter also of Hotchkiss, and many,
many friends.

Ted Benglen
Ted Benglen passed away on December 8, 2001.
Ted was a humble patriot. He was a behind the scene kind of guy that supported
many causes. He supported the Tyranny Response Team and the American Freedom
Network. Ted was a true friend to many in the patriot movement. He will be sadly
missed. There will be a short memorial for Ted at the Pulliam building on December
15, 2001 from 12:30 to 1:00 PM before the Bill of Rights Day activities.

Norm Reznik
Norm was a retired professor with the University of Northern Colorado and a talk
show host for KHNC and used his show to promote the TRT. Norm died from cancer
Darren Spoering
Darren Spoering was a working member of the TRT Fife and Drum Corp. Darren
died in car accident.
Craig Weeks
Craig Weeks died December 3rd of 2009 and was 88 years of age. Craig was a
member of the TRT Fife and Drum Corp. Mr. Weeks was a veteran of the US
Merchant Marines during WWII.
